The Canal Fulton Players are proud to announce that they will be presenting Craig May's original murder mystery, Closing Night, on August 21-22, 28-29, 2015 at the SALT Box Ministries, 408 West Market Street, Canal Fulton, Ohio.  Auditions are scheduled for June 30, July 1 at Community Connections, 2381 Locust Street, Canal Fulton, Ohio (Next to Heritage Photography) at 7:00 pm  Persons wishing to audition should be ready to read from the script.  There are forty parts which are to be played by ten actors and actresses.  Thus, there are four parts per participant.  The reason is that there is a play within a play.  The parts are:




RON AARONS:twenties-thirties, down-to-earth player; portrays “Joe Tremaine”, crusadingdetective
 
JOHN WEBB: forties, friendlyand relaxed; plays “Sid Merryweather”, best friend to Raymond
 
NADINE DELACROIX:fifties, faded movie star and diva; plays “Lady Gabrielle Grimm”, sinister townauthority
 
WAYNE MCCLOUD:thirties-fifties, amiable; plays “Constable Slease”, corrupt law official
 
CLARENCE RINEHARDT:forties-fifties, perfectionist who won’t take direction; plays “Judge Pitts”,corrupt law official
 
LLOYD PICKENS:forties-fifties, practical joker, character actor; plays “Dr. Voglyn”, acorrupt (and mad) scientist
 
PAUL KLEMENS:thirties-fifties, acerbic character actor; plays “Hobbs”, Dr. Voglyn’s butler


DREW DAVID HOFFMAN: thirties, stage and television star and diva; plays “Raymond Beckwith”, sympathetic male lead who is in love with Muriel Culberson, as well as Raymond’s Mr. Hyde-type alter ego
 
MARGO TREADWELL: forties, fading stage star and diva; plays the nominal female lead, “Anne Culberson”, venal wife of Wilfrid Culberson and mother of Muriel
 
JOY VALENTINE: twenties, sweet-talking (and loose) ingénue; plays “Muriel Culberson”, the innocent heroine who is in love with Raymond
 
BEN GARBER: twenties, self-absorbed acting upstart; plays “Douglas Hightower”, bullying and arrogant suitor to Muriel
 
EDWARD PRESCOTT: forties-fifties, fatherly character actor; plays “Wilfrid Culberson”, weak patrician husband to Anne and father of Muriel
 
SALLY FOX: thirties-fifties, brassy good-time player; plays “Bernadette”, the Culberson maid

BOB:thirties-fifties, tech director/spotlight operator/sound designer; drunk,unreliable
 
MISS INGERSOLL:twenties-forties, assistant to Anton Corsanno, Drew David Hoffman, MargoTreadwell, and Nadine Delacroix; frantic, nervous
 
MRS. THORNBURY:forties, wardrobe coordinator; very no-nonsense

INSPECTOR CHARLES WINGATE:forties-fifties, detective in charge of murder investigation; shrewd,calculating

GEORGE:forties-fifties, personal cook to Nadine Delacroix; very flamboyant gay man
 
DAKOTA: twenties,memoirist to Nadine Delacroix; very butch gay man
 
GRANT DAVIS:forties, soon-to-be-ex-husband of Margo Treadwell; violent, angry
 
ROY NEWHOUSE:twenties-forties, ambitious reporter; hopes for a juicy story on the murder
