It’s 1968!  Tune in as America’s swinging sweethearts--Pete Bartel (Mike Guffey) and Keely Stevens (Tina Starkey) -- a formerly marriedcouple are reunited for a live television special re-living their illustriousmusical career on TV, in Las Vegas showrooms, and at the top of the hit parade.   The only catch – they haven’t spoken sincetheir big breakup at Caesar’s Palace five years ago.As the show has it, Pete and Keelyhad their popularity in the 1950’s and 1960’s -- apparently intended as a sortof second tier Steve and Eydie, though less accomplished and certainly lesscompatible.  By 1968 a few years aftertheir divorce, each is in a career slide, with slow selling solo albums and busand truck tours of musicals.  The TVspecial is meant to put Pete and Keely back on top.   Can they conceal their apparent mutualanimosity?This Off-Broadway musical hit ispacked with classic favorites like BesameMucho, Secret Love,This Could Be the Start of Something Big, and Fever.This nostalgic revue style musical isdirected by Marc C. Howard who has directed many of our favorite and mostpopular shows including the 2012 comedy hit TheDixie Swim Club and the musicals The25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee and last year’s Shout! The Mod Musical.   John Ebner who has put his fine musicaltouch to Applause and Shout! The ModMusical also brings his magic to this light and whimsical musical.Producers are Sue Snyder and JackSteele.
