I am the producer of the show “Dawg Pounded” which returns for its second
season at Kennedy’s Theatre. The show opens this Friday, July 17th and runs
through August 8th. This comedic production, written by long-time Browns’
fan and Cleveland native, Tim Tyler, features a talented local cast who
present an amusing look at the tortured history of Cleveland Browns’ fans.
The play tells the story of two die -hard Browns’ fans who must cope with
the ups and downs of a typical season and many of the low lights in Browns’
history! In addition to enduring the chaos on the field, they suffer the
slings of outrageous taunting from their chief nemesis,Pittsburgh Pete, as
they watch the games at their local sports bar. The play includes a number
of parody songs sung to such tunes as “Let’s Do It (Let’s Fall In Love),”
“There’s No Business Like Show Business,” “Johnny Angel”,  and “Can’t Take
My Eyes Off of You.” The play is a therapeutic examination of what it means
to be a Browns’ fan – the torment, the doubt, and the disappointment, all
wrapped up in a package of hope and optimism that, one day, it will all be
worth it.
