 Calling All ‘Guys and Dolls’
Gamble on Love and Fun at the Olmsted Performing Arts Center this WeekendOLMSTED FALLS, OH – This weekend Olmsted Performing Arts (OPA) -http://www.olmstedperformingarts.com – in Olmsted Falls will present “Guys and Dolls.” An award winning musical, produced as a film and on stage across the world, “Guys and Dolls” tells the story of a 1940s gambler flirting with love and a financial windfall in this vivid, action-packed world of casinos, cool music, crisp dialogue and dancing. “Guys and Dolls” is an oddball romantic comedy that goes from the heart of Times Square in New York City to the cafes of Havana, Cuba floating along on singing and fun, but eventually everyone ends up right where they belong. The musical is based on the book “The Idyll of Sarah Brown” by Damon Runyon with turned into “Guys and Dolls” by Jo Swerling and Abe Burrows, with music and lyrics by Frank Loesser. The Olmsted Performing Arts Center presentation of “Guys and Dolls” is produced nd directed by OPA Artistic Director Angela Boehm. “This show is an energetic, fun slice of life and love, with a dash of crime,” says Boehm. “We transport the audience to the 1940s with magical designs and music, and we capture the attitudes of these characters on the edge of a flashy world of risks and rewards.” The show opens Friday, Aug. 9, and features Ian Atwood as Nathan Detroit, Lauren Ashley Berry as Adelaide, Will Ujek as Sky Masterson and Tessa Hongosh as Sarah Brown.
