[NEohioPAL] Swingtime Big Band Looking For Pianist

Wanted: Experienced Pianist for the Swingtime Big Band. We are an 18 piece big band based on Cleveland's east side. We rehearse once or twice a month on Tuesdays in Willoughby, Ohio. We play a varied schedule of concerts and swing dances, playing a few times a month, including a standing gig at Vosh in Lakewood. The group is a mix of experienced people from differing age groups that include members that have been playing for years during various Big Band time periods over the last 30 years. You will not get rich or make a lot of money with this band so you must like to play big band music and be willing to put in time and effort and enjoy making good music for appreciative audiences. Ability to read music is a must as is being able to play in time when not soloing. Plenty of opportunity for solos as we do a lot of Stan Kenton, Count Basie, and Duke Ellington arrangements. An assumption we make is that you have your own keyboard, amp, and be committed to what the group is trying to give to the North East Ohio community. That is high quality Big Band music for everyone to enjoy.
