PositionOverview:  Aurora United MethodistChurch is seeking an individual to develop and lead the church’s musicalministries.  The appropriate person willbe both a spiritual and organizational leader; someone who can envision and createmusic in accordance to the church’s mission, which is to “Love God, LoveOthers, and Bring People to Christ.” 


Responsibilities
Coordinate the music for all regularly scheduledSunday morning services as well as a limited number of special services (e.g.,Advent, Lenten services).
·        Schedule routine rehearsals with all membersinvolved in the music ministry.
·        Formulate and develop a praise team.
·        Consult regularly with the Worship Committeeand/or Pastor in effort to evaluate, enhance, and support the music ministry.
·        Provide ample opportunities for the children ofthe church to engage in music ministry.  
 
Qualifications:
·        A clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ andthe ability to use and create music to strengthen the faith of others.
·        Experience in collaborating with vocalists andmusicians at varying degrees of skill.
·        Proficiency in playing piano (preferred) and/orguitar with the ability to lead while playing. 
·        Strong vocal skills.
·        A willingness to recruit volunteers in all areasof music ministry as well as nurturing talent in all age groups.
·        The ability to lead worship that transcendsmodern, contemporary and traditional genres.
·        An enthusiastic presence and the necessaryrelational skills for leading worship.
