Open Auditions
As part of our 2015-2016 collaborative Studio Season, Lake Erie College Department of Theatre and Rabbit Run Community Arts Association would like to announce open auditions for our upcoming production of MISALLIANCE by George Bernard Shaw and directed by Dr. Jerry C. Jaffe

There will be open auditions September 15 at 6pm and September 16 at 4pm at the Royce Hall for Fine and Performing Arts. There will be callbacks scheduled for September 17 at 6pm. Also, auditions may be made by appointment.

MISALLIANCE is a comedy of manners that takes a satiric look at marriage during an afternoon in the solarium of the Tarleton's country estate. Speaking roles for men and women, as well as some non-speaking roles for servant types.

Here is a brief summary of the speaking roles available:

"The parents"
* John Tarleton, self made businessman and patriarch, socially progressive, age 40s or more
* Mrs Tarleton, wife to John Sr and mother to John Jr and Hypatia, a lady but one who remembers her more modest roots, also over 40
* Lord Summerhays, proper British gentleman, elderly, veteran of governing the Indian colonies, father to Bentley, older than the rest
"The Children"
* Bentley Summerhays, Lord Bentley's youngest son, a bit of a fop, courting Hypatia, prone to tantrums, young adult age
* Hypatia Tarleton, daughter to Mr. and Mrs Tarleton, quick witted and independent, perhaps too independent, knows her own mind, young adult age
* John Tarleton, Jr, son to Mr. and Mrs Tarleton, despises Bentley almost as much as he his parents, young adult age
"Other Guests"
* Joseph Percival, college friend of John Jr, takes a shining to Hypatia, thinks very highly of himself, young adult age
* Lina Szczepanowska, the famous Polish daredevil, men immediately fall under her charms, youngish but age unclear
* Julius Baker, a young man with a gun and with revenge on his mind, 20-something

All characters must do British accents, except Lina who must be able to do a Polish accent.

Auditions will consist of some improvisation as well as reading from the scripts. Auditions are open for everybody.

Performance dates are: Nov 13, 14, 15, 19, 20, 21, 22

Am also in need of a good Stage Manager as well as other backstage crew.

"She went down to the pet shop and came back with two alligators. We asked her why she'd got two alligators, and she said they were on sale. Buy one at the regular price and you got another one for a penny. An alligator one cent sale. In its own way it made sense." Richard Brautigan, A CONFEDERATE GENERAL FROM BIG SUR
