Wandering Aesthetics, in conjunction with Akron Peace Week, is proud to announce the next The Open Door: Akron’s Performance Exchange. 

The seventh of these monthly workshops will be held on Sunday, September 27h from 6 PM – 8 PM at Lifesource Yoga located at 300 N. Cleveland-Massillon Rd., Suite 2 in Akron, Ohio.  

There is a $5 suggested donation for The Open Door. The event is open to the public. NO registration is required. 

This month’s session will be Resonate with Peace led by Benjamin Rexroad and Kyle Jozsa of Wandering Aesthetics.

About the Open Door:

Drawing from the rich artistic traditions within Akron, our mission is to introduce community members to diverse forms of creative expression, building community by crossing boundaries, enriching lives and opening the door to the imagination.

The Open Door is a monthly workshop led by a different master teacher each session and highlighting a different area associated with performance.  From physical action to voice to dance, anyone can benefit from these skills. No experience necessary!!! 

About the Session:

Peace can be channeled through the mind, through the spirit, through the body and through the voice.

The voice is a powerful instrument capable of vibrational frequencies which can help reduce stress, alter consciousness and create a deep sense of peace, well being and overall better health. Using techniques learned from Tibetan Sound Healing and Singing Circles, Benjamin Rexroad and Kyle Jozsa of Wandering Aesthetics will guide participants on a vocal journey designed to promote harmony and healing. Working with breath, tone and resonation, participants will discover a deeper connection and appreciation for the voice and its energy.

*Participants will not be required to vocalize.*

About the Instructor: 

Benjamin Rexroad and Kyle Jozsa, Co-Artistic Directors of the Akron-based Storytelling Theatre Company, Wandering Aesthetics, believe in taking a spiritual approach to the actor's craft. Their time training with companies such as SITI Company, Double Edge and New World Performance Laboratory, have taught the pair the importance of discipline and development. Understanding the body, voice and imagination are the primary instruments of the storyteller, the duo uses rigorous physical, vocal and mental training as a backbone to create dynamic live performances.
