[NEohioPAL] Cleveland Play House seeks Young Performer Supervisor

Cleveland Play House, America's first regional theatre and recipient of the 2015 Regional Theatre Tony Award, is accepting applications for a Young Performer Supervisor to work on our production of A CHRISTMAS STORY from Tue., Nov. 18 through Wed., Dec. 21. This Supervisor will work with a second Young Performer Supervisor on the daily management of seven young performers and three young understudies on the production.  Regular duties include:

a)      Communicate with parents of young performers on a daily basis.
b)      Report any issues concerning young performers to the stage manager in a timely manner.
c)      Oversee drop-off and pick-up of young performers by their parents/guardians in rehearsal hall and theatre.
d)      Ensure that young performers arrive to all entrances on time during rehearsals and performances.
e)      Collaborate with the second Young Performer Supervisor to establish a consistent track for the young performers during performances.
f)       Oversee completion of school work when young performers are not actively in rehearsal/performance (supervisors are not expected to act as tutors, but are expected to keep young performers focused).
g)      Assist in running lines and reviewing blocking as needed.
h)      Other duties as assigned by stage management.

Experience working with children required.  Experience working in stage management or run crew on live theatre productions is a plus.  The Young Performer Supervisor will need to pass a criminal background check prior to first day of employment.

Qualified applicants must be able to follow instructions, be reliable, self-motivated, and detail-oriented.  Hours are mostly nights and weekends with some afternoon calls.
