Beck Center for the Arts Youth Theater, one of the oldest continuously running Youth and Teen Theaters in the country, will be holding auditions on November 21 & 22, 2015 for the third production of our 67th Anniversary Season:

Bright Ideas
Written by Eric Coble
Directed by Jonathan Kronenberger

The Story:

How far would you go for your child? For Genevra and Joshua Bradley, the question is no longer hypothetical. Their three-year-old son, Mac, is next on the waiting list to get into the Bright Ideas Early Childhood Development Academy-and everyone knows once you're in there, your life will unfold with glorious ease. Josh and Gen have had to scramble all their lives to get this far...and now they are one fatal dinner party away from the ultimate success as parents: The Right Pre-School. You may never look at pre-school-or pesto-the same way again...

Audition/Callback dates: (open to Beck Center students ages 12 to 19*)
Saturday, November 21: 2:30 to 4:30pm & Sunday, November 22: 1:00 to 3:00pm
Callbacks: Monday, November 23 from 5:30 to 8:00pm

Starting Saturday, November 7, you may sign up for a one-hour audition slot at Beck Center Customer Service or by calling 216-521-2540 x10.

*Please note: Youth Theater roles are only eligible to students who will be enrolled in our Winter/Spring 2016 semester. Actors do not necessarily need to be enrolled at the time of the auditions, however, participation in the actual production does require Beck Center enrollment. Students do not need to be specifically enrolled in a Theater class at Beck Center to qualify. Students who will be enrolled in a Winter/Spring 2016 semester class in Beck Center's Dance, Music and Visual Arts Departments are equally eligible.

Bottom line: if you are accepting a role in the show, you will need to enroll prior to the start of rehearsals. However, classes are already filling up! Any questions, please feel free to contact Jonathan Kronenberger, Associate Director of Theater Education, at 216-521-2540 x27.

Unlike some other youth theaters, there is NO additional participation fee required beyond enrollment.
