The Hudson Players will be holding another night of auditions for "1776"
this Tuesday 11/24 at 7 p.m. at the Barlow Community Center (41 S. Oviatt
St, Hudson, OH) for additional men. Open parts include Andrew McNair,
Leather Apron, Dr Lyman Hall, George Reed, Lewis Morris, Robert Livingston,
Joseph Hewes, Roger Sherman and James Wilson. These are very good parts and
offer a chance to join a really strong cast and be part of a sure to be
great show. Character descriptions for the open roles include:

Andrew McNair - Gnomish little man of indeterminate age; custodian of the
Congress

Leather Apron - Assistant to McNair; is strong-backed and rather bland youth

Dr Lyman Hall -tall distinguished man from Georgia

George Read - Delaware; a small, brightly dressed bewigged prig of a man; a
miniature peacock; there is something which seems permanently to disturb his
nostrils

Lewis Morris - New York; a very proper, formal man unphased by the sometimes
coarse proceedings; mirror image of Robert Livingston

Robert Livingston - New York; gentleman from cosmopolitan state of New York

Joseph Hewes - North Carolina; Southern aristocrat; not given to speaking
for himself; he can, however, be prompted into a rather pompous verbosity

Roger Sherman - Connecticut; ascetic, serious, self-righteous ex-cobbler
given to drinking from an omnipresent bowl of coffee

James Wilson - Pennsylvania; gray, puffy, little man; he speaks out only
after solemn deliberation and views the world from behind John Dickinson,
with a vague and slightly dopey hauteur
