THE CONCERT THAT NEVER WAS”: TRIBUTE TO FRANK & BILLIE FT. DAVE BANKS BIG BAND 
Akron’s own Dave Banks Big Band returns to BLUJazz Akron,  47 E. Market Street in Akron, Ohio in a special tribute to two of the 20th century’s biggest contributors to jazz, Frank Sinatra & Billie Holiday, in a centennial celebration of their birth for an unforgettable night of big band jazz at its finest! The evening will feature Canton’s Michael Sonata & Akron’s best kept secret, Mery White portraying the sounds of Frank and Billie! The band will also perform some of their signature features.
Frank Sinatra and Billie Holiday are an inherent part of America’s hearts, each having left a lasting impression through their gifts of song. The two were also linked by more than a shared birth year (1915): the singers exerted a powerful pull on one another as muses, holding each other in the highest regard as musical influences.
 
While Sinatra & Holiday’s individual stories unfolded in very different ways, we are remembering them both with a very exciting musical tribute featuring Akron’s own, Dave Banks Big Band, in a one-night-only concert event at BLU Jazz+!
