[NEohioPAL] Auditions for "Steel Magnolias" at Arlene's Broadway on Buffalo

Arlene’s Broadway on Buffalo (ABOB), 236 Buffalo St., Conneaut, OH, will hold auditions for Robert Harling’s “Steel Magnolias”  Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 9-10, from 7-9 p.m. at the theater. Readings will be from the script. Performance dates are March 11-13, 18 and 19.

"Steel Magnolias" is a comedy–drama play about the bond among a group of Southern <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Southern_United_States> women in northwest L <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Louisiana>ouisiana. Written by Robert Harling <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Harling_(writer)>, based on his experience with his sister's death. The title suggests the "female characters are as delicate as magnolias but as tough as steel". The magnolia specifically references a magnolia tree <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magnolia_tree> they are arguing about at the beginning. The cast features six women of various ages.

Veteran director Douglas Anderson of Conneaut will be running “Steel Magnolias.” No parts have been precast; all roles are available.
