*Please prepare the following:*

*Please prepare 1 up-tempo and 1 ballad at least 32 bars each in the style
of the show. Selecting 1 audition song from the show is preferred but not
required.

*Bring a headshot and resume if available. Please bring a picture even if
headshot isn’t available.

*You may be asked to read from the script.

*If you wish to audition but are not able to make it to the above dates,
please contact the box office at #440-842-4600 to make alternate
arrangements.

*Please bring a list of conflict dates you may have during the rehearsal
period.

* Dance auditions will be held at callbacks.



*Show Dates for Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown:** April 8th –
April 24th, 2016. Fridays and Saturdays @ 8:00 PM and Sundays @ 3:00 PM*

Rehearsal Information: Rehearsals will begin on or around February 8th.

Rehearsals will generally be Monday-Thursday evenings from 7:00pm until
10:00pm.

Based on the Oscar-nominated film, Women on the Verge of a Nervous
Breakdown is a touching and hilarious story about women and the men who
pursue them... find them, lose them, need them, and reject them. At the
center is Pepa whose friends and lovers are blazing a trail through 1980s
Madrid. Mayhem and comic madness abound, balanced by empathy and heart.



*CHARACTER DESCRIPTIONS AND VOCAL RANGES: *

*Detective*- The Chief Inspector's assistant. A bit bumbling. Age: 20 to 30

*Telephone Repairman*- Handsome. Age: 20 to 30

*Ambite*- A guy on a motorcycle (or Vespa.)

*Two Security Guards*- Security Guards. Two Male or One Female, One Male.

*News Reader On Tv*- A News Reader on TV.

*Three Magistrates*- Magistrates. Three Male or Two Male, One Female.

*Young Lucia*- A dancer.

*Young Ivan*- A dancer.

*Paulina*- A lawyer, a 1987 feminist. Despite her cold demeanor, we must
also believe she can be swept off her feet. Age: 30s. Vocal range: Ab3- Ab4.

*Pepa*- Ideally 43, though somewhere between 35 - 45 can work. A working
actress. Warm, funny, sardonic, down to earth, emotional, motherly and
naturally sexy (i.e., not working it.) Vocal range: F3- Ab5.

*Pepa's Concierge*- Religious and a little loopy. Age: 50s. Vocal range:
G3- A#4.

*Rosalia*- A voice-over actress. Very attractive. Age: around 25.

*Taxi Driver*- Off-center, talkative and big hearted. He takes on the
problems of any of his passengers. Still grounded in reality, he is the
spirit and energy of Madrid. Age: 30s. Vocal range: B2- E4.

*Doctor*- A doctor. Age: around 35.

*Hector*- The director and owner of the dubbing studio where Pepa works.
Age: around 35.

*Ivan*- Handsome and smooth. Pretty much a haircut and a voice, it would be
possible to mistake him for a bounder, but the truth is he falls in love
with every woman he meets. Age: around 45. Vocal range A2- F4.

*Ivan's Concierge*- The self appointed ruler of her apartment building.
Age: 40s. Vocal range: G3- A#4.

*Lucia*- Ivan's ex-wife. She has just been released from a mental
institution after 20 years. Both comic and scary with a heartbreaking
vulnerability underneath it all. Age: 50s. Vocal range: F#3- C5.

*Marisa*- Carlos' fiance. Very matter-of-fact and no-nonsense. Firlmy
holding onto her virginity, but with a passion and freedom struggling to
break free. Age: 22 to 22. Vocal range: C4- C5.

*Candela*- Pepa's best friend. A working model. Very pretty with a small
town innocence underneath her cosmopolitan sexiness, she is easily
distracted - usually by love. Age: 30s. Vocal range top: F3- C5.

*Carlos*- Ivan's and Lucia's son. Shy and studious looking, handsome behind
glasses. Struggling to break out of his shell. Age: 22 to 22. Vocal range:
C3- C5.

*Chief Inspector*- A tough, no-nonsense police detective.

*Cristina*- A receptionist and a busy body.
