Bay Street Theatre in Sag Harbor, NY, on Long Island is looking for a Props
Master who will be responsible for procuring, building, and creating the
hand props and set décor for three large productions. Carpentry, upholstery,
painting, casting, carving, craft, set dressing, and soft good skills are a
must.

A reputation for doing the work ahead of schedule and under budget is highly
sought. Must drive, have a vehicle, and be very familiar with prop and
furniture rental houses in the greater New York area, as well as have
connections to area theatres for renting. Must provide own housing in NYC.
Single bedroom shared housing is provided in Sag Harbor.

Will have access to the Bay Street Theatre scene shop and props storage.
Must also have good communication skills with all personnel on the
production team and experience working with Broadway designers.

May 9 - Sept 11 is the basic season. Design meetings begin during February,
so some working long-distance will happen immediately. The summer work will
be carried out with the help of a dedicated props intern as well as other
interns as needed, so a willingness to teach is required.

Must have strong logistic skills since rehearsals begin in Manhattan for two
weeks and then move to the theatre on Long Island in Sag Harbor. Final props
are due while rehearsals are in Manhattan to make the transition to the
stage seamless. Must be available for, but not limited to, production
meetings either in Sag Harbor or NYC, load in/load out of rehearsal studio
in NYC, tech/Dress/Previews in Sag Harbor, and strike, return of all prop
rentals, as well as clean work areas.

First set of rehearsal props are due in rehearsal in Manhattan May 7 at 42nd
Street Studios. Hand props are completed by the time rehearsals move to Sag
Harbor. Final furniture is due the day cast is on stage.
