2016-2017 Season
Subscription Series
A Thousand Clowns, by Herb Gardner
September 22 - October 16
In this classic American comedy, free-spirit Murray is an unconventional,
unemployed television comedy writer, who is raising his precocious nephew,
Nick. When social workers come to interfere with their situation, Murray
unwittingly stumbles upon love, purpose, and a new course in life.
Six Dance Lessons in Six Weeks, by Richard Alfieri
November 17 - December 11 (no performance on Thanksgiving)
A comedy with music and dance, Six Dance Lessons in Six Weeks is about a
formidable retired woman who hires an acerbic dance instructor to give her
private dance lessons. What begins as an antagonistic relationship blossoms
into an intimate friendship between two people from very different
backgrounds.
The Mousetrap, by Agatha Christie
January 26 - February 19
In this longest running play in history (63 continuous years so far), a
group of strangers is stranded in a boarding house during a snow storm. Of
course, one is a murderer, and in typical Agatha Christie fashion, everyone
is a suspect.
Of Mice and Men, by John Steinbeck
March 16 - April 9
This outstanding classic drama is a tremendously moving character study of
two roving farmhands, one of whom "with the strength of a gorilla and the
mind of an untutored child" unwittingly commits a murder, while his friend
tried desperately to prevent his falling into the hands of the law.
Baskerville: A Sherlock Holmes Mystery, by Ken Ludwig*
Something's Afoot, or Holmes for the Holidays, by Ken Ludwig*
Moon Over Buffalo, by Ken Ludwig
May 11 - June 4
Coach House's final show will be a selection by farce-master Ken Ludwig,
but, since the performance rights are still pending, we don't know which one
yet! You can't go wrong, though, with either of two send-ups of the great
detective Sherlock Holmes, or an eccentric theatrical family touring the
not-so-big-time with their productions of Private Lives and Cyrano de
Bergerac.
*pending performance rights
Season Subscriptions go on sale May 12, single ticket sales begin August 1.
