L.A. FILM DIRECTOR TEACHING HANDS-ON SCENE STUDY & ON-CAMERA CLASS FOR ACTORS

Learn & Practice making bold, interesting, and appropriate choices to create dynamic and memorable performances and auditions.

June 4 - July 9, 2016, Saturday Afternoons, 1:30pm - 4:30pm

Los Angeles-based film/TV director and Lorain native JOHN BAUMGARTNER -- JohnBaumgartner.com — will teach a 6 week, Saturdays, SCENE STUDY CLASS for a small group of professional or aspiring theater and film actors.  Baumgartner’s work includes the critically-acclaimed feature “Hard Pill,” which The Plain Dealer graded “A,” and which was acquired by the Weinstein company; as well as work for Hulu, Funny or Die, and MTV's Logo Network. 

Through hands-on scene work in a fun, relaxed, and encouraging atmosphere, techniques covered include On-Set Etiquette and Procedure; determining a scene's Emotional Event; defining Before and After; Animating Subtext through strong Back Stories & Objectives; discovering Organic Blocking; utilizing Opposites; Dynamic Choices for Auditions; Loving the Process as much as the Result; and more.  $150 for 6 sessions, limited class space by design.
