*The Dark Room at CPT Tuesday, May 10th *

*This month: Open Mic and a discussion about the future of Dark Room *

The Dark Room is a place where writers take center stage and their work has
a chance to grow. The Dark Room is an ongoing event held on the second
Tuesday of each month. The Dark Room affords emerging and veteran
playwrights the space and resources to develop new works. It offers a venue
to workshop plays, novels, poems, or any other written work in a
supportive, yet critical environment.


*Tuesday, May 10th*
The Church at CPT (just east of the Gordon Square Theatre)
Cleveland Public Theatre
6407 Detroit Ave, Cleveland, OH 44102

*7:00pm: *Sign-up begins for writers and actors *(space is very limited
this month - we will  have room for approximately 5 pieces)*. Writers names
will be drawn randomly at 7:15pm to determine whose work will be presented.
Writers can bring up to 10 pages of work to be read; actors will be cast on
the spot!

*7:30pm:* Open Mic Session readings begin

*8:30pm:  *Dark Room directors Mindy Herman and John Busser will lead an
open discussion about Dark Room. Let's talk about what you find most
valuable about Dark Room, what isn't working for you or any ideas on how to
make the event grow and increase its worth to you as a writer, actor or
audience member. We will spend an hour (or as long as it takes!) to listen
to your concerns and feedback and, together, Dark Room will continue to
evolve. If you have any questions about this portion of the evening, of if
you can't attend this month but have thoughts to share, please email Mindy
and John!

Suggested donation of $5 is welcomed at the door, but not required.

Writers wishing to present during the open session portion of Dark Room may
submit shorter works, up to ten pages, in advance of the event or bring
them on the night of the event. Open session readings are first come, first
serve until all slots have been allotted. All submissions should be made to
