[NEohioPAL] A Murder Party Auditions

“A Murder Party” is a feature length comedy drama set in late Victorian era England. The story follows Mickey Davenport and his band of friends as they attempt to cover up an accidental death, encountering shenanigans along the way. Auditions will be held on Saturday, June 4th at the Elyria Public Library (West River Branch) in the Miller Room from 10 am to 5 pm. If you are interested but cannot attend auditions, please ask the director about video auditions.

All actors must speak with an English accent, and characters Connie and Abigail must speak with a “Cockney” accent.

Please read the character descriptions and email the director at modernvictorian at yahoo.com to receive a dialogue excerpt for that character. You may request up to 2 character dialogues. Please try to memorize your dialogue for your audition. 

MICKEY DAVENPORT - Male, 20’s. A wealthy bachelor who loves to throw lavish parties at his family’s estate. He is accidentally the catalyst for his family’s servant’s death. He is naive and carefree, but can be serious when he needs to be.

CONNIE WRIGHT - Female, middle-aged. Longtime faithful servant to the Davenport family. Dies under mysterious circumstances.

LORD CHARLES BLUFFINGTON - Male, 20’s. Best friend of Mickey Davenport. He is foppish, flirty, flamboyant, and often self-centered.

SIR EDMUND LOVE/VICTORIA MADDOX - Female (impersonating a male), 30’s. She is shrewd and clever, a private detective under investigation of the Davenports under the guise of a deceased family friend.

LADY MINERVA BLUFFINGTON - Female, late 20’s-early 30’s. Lord Bluffington’s older sister, proud, calculating, and suspicious of everyone. Like her brother, she is often self-centered.

THE CORONER’S ASSISTANT - Male, late teens-early 20’s. Nervous and skittish, he is pulled into helping cover up Connie’s death. 

DELILAH ASCOTT - Female, early 20’s. Lord Bluffington’s beautiful fiancé. Sweet and delicate.

ABIGAIL SLY - Female, late teens-early 20’s. Street rat and professional pickpocket. Agrees to pretend to be Connie’s niece to aid Mickey and his friends in covering up Connie’s death.

MR. DAVENPORT - Male, middle-aged. Mickey’s father, cold and intimidating. Not easily impressed with his son or his son’s friends.

This is not a paid position. All actors will receive IMDb credit for their work. This project is great for any actor looking for something to put on their resume or break into film acting.
