  Nationally renownedpianist Alexander Wassermanwill perform a Piano Recital Saturday May21st 7:00pm in the intimate Parma High School “LittleTheater”  6285 W 54th St inParma.  Featuring: Carl Vine:Sonata No. 1 Rachmaninoff: two etudes; Liszt: Valee d'Obermann and selectionsby Chopin.  Proceeds to benefit: Parma Symphony Orchestra General admission for each concert is $10 for adults and $5 for students and seniorcitizens.  Family passes of $20 are available for families of up to 2adults and their children.  All tickets are available at the door.  Equally dedicated to theeducation of emerging talent, Dr. Wasserman is the recently appointedArtist-in-Residence at Reinhardt University (GA). He also served as Professorof Piano at Youngstown State University (OH) shortly before his move toAtlanta. He has given masterclasses at University of St. Thomas (MN), WestmontCollege (CA), Cleveland Music School Settlement (OH), Youngstown StateUniversity (OH), Kennesaw State University (GA), and Reinhardt University (GA).Alexander Wasserman, anative of Los Angeles, began formal piano studies with Suzanne Julian. He wenton to receive degrees in Piano Performance from the University of SouthernCalifornia’s Thornton School of Music (BM), the Cleveland Institute of Music(MM), and the Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University (GPD). Mostrecently, he completed the prestigious Doctor of Musical Arts program in PianoPerformance at the Cleveland Institute of Music. His primary teachers includeAntonio Pompa-Baldi, Yong-Hi Moon, Daniel Shapiro, and Antoinette Perry.Additional study with Paul Schenly and Sergei Babayan has also been of primaryinfluence.Dr. Wasserman currentlyresides in Atlanta, GA with his wife, Jessica Oudin, a member of the AtlantaSymphony viola section.The Parma SymphonyOrchestra is a self-supporting community orchestra in cooperation with theParma City Schools.
