[NEohioPAL] Oberlin Choristers' Canterra Musica presents free concert this Sunday, June 5, 3:30 p.m. in Cleveland Heights

*Arts in the Cathedral* is pleased to present *Canterra Musica*, the most
advanced treble choir of *Oberlin Choristers, *directed by *Jennifer Call*,
Oberlin Choristers’ Artistic Director*.* This free concert will take place
this *Sunday, June 5*, at *3:30 p.m*. at *Church of the Saviour* in
Cleveland Heights. A freewill offering will be accepted. A reception will
follow the concert. Canterra Musica’s summer tour repertoire includes
Purcell's *Sound the Trumpet*, Brumfield’s *No Time*, and features Gwyneth
Walker's *The Gift to Sing*, a work which the Choristers recently
commissioned. This set will also be performed before the Manhattan Concert
Productions Children's Choir Festival Choir at Carnegie Hall in June.

*Canterra Musica*, comprised of auditioned singers in grades 7-12, has
traveled each year since 1995. The choir has sung in world-class venues
including the Sydney Opera House, Australia, St. Patrick’s Cathedral,
Ireland and Chartres Cathedral, France. The singers have also participated
in festivals, honor choirs, and in collaboration with Oberlin College Opera
Theatre, Cleveland Opera, Oberlin Summer Theatre Festival, and most
recently as the guest choir for the world tour of Video Games Live.

Founded in 1991, Oberlin Choristers serves the youth of Northeast Ohio
offering an exceptional choral education through engaging rehearsals,
excellence in performance, and transformative traveling experiences.
Singers in grades K-12 are taught in five separate ensembles by master
teachers.

*Jennifer Call *is the Conductor of Canterra Musica as well as the Artistic
Director of Oberlin Choristers. Prior to her appointment as Artistic
Director in 2011, she spent over a decade as music educator for all ages in
public schools throughout Northeast Ohio. Her focused work in teaching the
adolescent changing voice, led to the creation of the Changing Voice
Institute held yearly at Oberlin Conservatory. She has been requested as
guest lecturer, clinician and guest conductor at universities and honor
choirs around the nation.

Mrs. Call holds degrees from Ohio State University and University of Akron.

*Church of the Saviour is located at 2537 Lee Road in Cleveland Heights,
one block north of Fairmount Blvd. There is free parking and
handicapped-access.*
