Playwrights Local 4181 will hold open auditions for Objectively/Reasonable,
a documentary play addressing the Tamir Rice shooting from the perspectives
of city residents, media figures, legal experts, and other members of the
Cleveland community. Written by an ensemble of playwrights--Mike Geither,
Tom Hayes, Lisa Langford, Michael Oatman, David Todd, and Mary E. Weems,
Ph.D.--the play incorporates original monologues and other material drawn
from interviews with local subjects. A cast of six will play a range of
characters in a work which also includes movement and projections.

Cast (3 female, 3 male)
We are seeking six actors of various ages and ethnicities. Each will play a
variety of characters based on real-life Clevelanders who are both male and
female. Reflecting the diversity of the city, these speakers are of
African-American, white, Latino, and other backgrounds.

Production Info

This is a non-Equity, paid production, directed by Terrence Spivey.
Performances run August 18-September 4, 2016 at Waterloo Arts in North
Collinwood. Rehearsals begin July 12.

Audition Details

-- Appointments are suggested, but not required.

-- Actors will read monologues or sides from the play.

-- Please bring a current headshot, resume, and calendar, and leave time
for paperwork.

-- Parking for the Slovenian Workmen’s Home is available in the lot to the
immediate east of the building or on Waterloo Road. Enter through the front
door and proceed to the 2nd Floor.
