Verb Ballets Hosts New York Choreographer Roger C. Jeffrey

Jeffrey has worked with The Metropolitan Opera Ballet Company and Lar Lubovitch Dance Company


CLEVELAND, OH - Verb Ballets is proud to welcome New York based choreographer Roger C. Jeffrey in studio the week of July 5-9, 2016 to create a new work on the company. Jeffrey has performed with Bernice Johnson, Twyla Tharp, Lar Lubovitch, and with Mikhail Baryshnikov's White Oak Dance Project, among others. Jeffrey is a graduate of Juilliard that has danced and choreographed nationally and internationally. The New York Times have praised his work as, "Heartfelt sincerity, dramatically meaningful moments."


Jeffrey has most recently worked with The Metropolitan Opera Ballet Company and Lar Lubovitch Dance Company. Jeffrey has performed in the companies of Bernice Johnson, Kevin Iega Jeff, Twyla Tharp, Zvi Gotheiner, Martial Roumain, and with Mikhail Baryshnikov's White Oak Dance Project. He has created works for national companies including Ballet X, Philadanco!, Cleo Parker Robinson Dance Company, Orlando Ballet and Washington Ballet. He has worked as an instructor and choreographer at The Juilliard School, Lincoln Center Institute, Purchase College Conservatory of Dance, the Joffrey School (Texas), Theatre Passe Muraille (Canada), La Companya (Spain), Tanz Project (Germany), Alvin Ailey American Dance Center, American Ballet Theatre/Make a Ballet Program, Dancespace Center, Peridance Center and many more.


Guest choreographer Roger C. Jeffrey will create a world premiere ballet titled, at your feet. This contemporary ballet is inspired by a poem by Kahlil Gibran, "into the garden of high affection, where days pass like dreams". Jeffrey's work is known for his technical virtuosity and powerful emotional moments that touch humanity. Verb Ballets looks forward to his new work that reflects his unique style.


Verb Ballets looks forward to hosting Jeffrey and adding to the wealth of company repertory. The company will debut this ballet on our summer programs including the Heinz Poll Summer Dance Festival at Hardesty Park on July 29 & 30, 2016 and at Tremont's Arts in August on August 13, 2016.
