Lorain Community Music Theater presents this Tony Award-winning modern classic musical at Hoke Theater/Stocker Arts Center at Lorain County Community College July 22nd, 23rd, 29th, and 30th at 7:30 p.m. and July 31st at 2:00 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at www.stockerartscenter.com, by calling the Stocker Arts Center box office at 440.366.4040, or in person at the Stocker Arts Center box office. In this enchanting, witty, and dark musical, your favorite fairy tales are flipped upside-down and given a hefty dose of reality. You might think you know the real stories of Little Red, Cinderella, Jack, and Rapunzel, but when a Baker and his wife learn of the curse placed upon their house by the Witch next door, their quest to break the spell will cause fairy tales to collide. As expected, wishes are granted and dreams come true, but in this epic musical, ‘happily ever after’ is not always what it seems because wishes have consequences, princes have flaws, and a giant seeks revenge. The cast of Into the Woods is comprised of 19 talented and accomplished performers from Lorain and Cuyahoga Counties ranging in age from 14 to 60. The cast features Marlene Karpinski (The Witch), Corey Knick (The Baker), Erin Donovan (The Baker's Wife), Jeff Kurkjian (Jack), Abby Golden (Little Red Riding Hood), and John Baumgartner (The Narrator/Mysterious Man). Other characters who animate the stage are portrayed by John Carmack (Cinderella's Prince/The Wolf), Alicia Fogal (The Stepmother), Jayne Kacik (Jack's Mother), Emma Baughman (Florinda), Natalie Baughman (Lucinda), Ally Yellets (Rapunzel), Jacob Schindler (Rapunzel's Prince), Jim Golden (The Steward), Dr. Craig Koehler (Cinderella's Father), Jen Bertoni (Cinderella's Mother/The Granny/The Giant), Regina Wolf (Snow White), and Lilly Thompson (Sleeping Beauty).  The spellbinding production is directed by Dr. Ted Williams and musically directed by Anthony Trifiletti.  Choreography was designed by Pamela Shirtz and the orchestra is being conducted by Mike Komperda.  The team of Marlene Karpinski and Lynn Maslinski produced 'Into the Woods'.
