Education Stage Manager

ClevelandPlay House, America’s first regional theatre and recipient of the 2015 RegionalTheatre Tony Award, is accepting applications for a non-AEA Stage Manager towork with our Education Department presenting shows in grade schools throughoutNortheast Ohio.  Position requires strongcommunication, organizational and planning skills.  The SM is responsible for running rehearsalsand performances, putting together the weekly schedule for the performers,including arrival, departure, performances and workshops times, maintaining theperformance as directed, giving line notes when necessary, sending out dailyrehearsal/performance reports, communicating and coordinating arrival andproduction needs with the schools in advance, helping the actors unload, setupand strike scenery at each school, coordinating the cleaning and maintenance ofcostumes with the Costume Shop Manager as well as setting up and running soundfor each performance. The SM must be able to lift 30 pounds, have a validdriver’s license and clean driving record and be comfortable driving a largepassenger van. Occasional out of town overnight stays required.  Qualified candidates will have 2-3 yearsexperience in Stage Managing.  Position startsas early as August 8th, 2016 and runs through December 21, 2016.
