"Plaid Tidings" at Clague Playhouse

Tues. & Wed. Aug. 23rd &24th at 7:30 pm

A Special Holiday Edition of Forever Plaid by Stuart Ross

Directed by Mike Larochelle, Choreographed byBrenda Larochelle, Music Direction and accompaniment by David Bird, ProductionManagement / Stage Management by Candace Lipton

 Synopsis: "1960's male harmony quartetForever Plaid returns from the hereafter to perform the television Christmasspecial they never got to before they met their untimely demise. Featuring suchgreat 50's & 60's hits like "Sh-Boom", "MamboItaliano", "Strangers in Paradise", "Hey There" andlots of holiday favorites, "Plaid Tidings" is sure fire family funfor the holiday season."

 AUDITIONS: Tuesday, 08/23/16 and Wednesday, 8/24/16 @ 7:30pm
Show dates: November18th through December 18th

 Rehearsals to be determined based on actoravailability but may begin as early as September 18th.

 * CLAGUE PLAYHOUSEauditions begin at 7:30 pm. No appointment is required. Headshots andresumes are always welcome and most helpful.

 * Auditionees are askedto bring two songs of contrasting style that show off their vocal range.Musical theatre selections, 50-60s selections in the style of the show and Christmassongs are all appropriate and welcome.  

 * Please bring sheetmusic in the correct key or your own prerecorded accompaniment. All auditioneeswill also be taught a short dance audition, so dress for movement.

 * Auditionees will beasked to cold read from the script. You may be asked to stay to read additionalscenes. There will be callbacks – schedule tbd.

 * Clague Playhouse is anon-profit 501c3 community theater. Actors receive a modest stipend for theirinvolvement.

 Needed - 4 Males - Characters:

Frankie   The leader and caretaker of the group.Confident. Asthmatic. He has a great deal of compassion for the music and thegroup. Romantic crooner and spiritual singer.  Age: 18-30.  Vocalrange top: B5 / bottom: F3

Jinx   The shy one. He lives his life terrified anddoesn't always remember what song comes next. Sparky's step-brother, heoccasionally gets a nosebleed when he sings above an A.  Age: 18-30. Vocal range top: D6 / bottom: F3

Sparky   The clown of the group. Very sharp and lovessinging his tailor-made solos. Wears a retainer and has a slight speechimpediment. Energetic and clever.  Age: 18-30.  Vocal range top: G5 /bottom: F3

Smudge  The worrier. He worries about the props, therunning order, and always assumes the audience won't like him. Has chronicnervous stomach and is oddly reluctant to perform. Wears glasses, which hideshis good looks and sex appeal.  Age: 18-30.  Vocal range top: G5 /bottom: F3
