ORGANIST

 

Select and provide appropriate keyboard selections for each regularly
scheduled worship service, special services, and other activities of First
Church as scheduled.

 

Provide dynamic hymn accompaniments at each service.  Hymn variations,
interludes, and free-style selections are required.

 

Rehearse weekly, or as needed, with the Chancel Choir and accompany at
services.  In addition, accompany other choirs as needed.  

 

Rehearse and accompany soloists, musicians and special groups as needed.

 

Maintain a list of and procure qualified substitutes for any worship service
or rehearsal that the Organist is unable to attend due to vacation, illness,
or any other issue.  

 

Shall encourage and permit the use of the facilities of First Church for
teaching organ and piano lessons.

 

Schedule the general maintenance of the musical instruments at First Church
and report to the Board of Trustees of any future long-term projects that
will be required to maintain the instruments.

 

Comply with all laws regarding copyrighted materials.

 

The organist shall have first right of refusal of all weddings and funerals.
A base fee will be collected and paid to the organist from those people who
have outside musicians handling these services.  The organist shall set
these fees.  Payment is to be received two weeks prior to any rehearsal(s).
