Corruption wherever you turn … corporate power and greed … the little guy
getting crushed. The American Dream is at risk, and it’s up to the people
to reclaim it. Sound familiar? The questions being so hotly debated in this
election year play out with uncanny parallels in Marc Blitzstein’s
legendary pro-union musical *The Cradle Will Rock*. In the summer of 1937,
his show had become so controversial that the federal government tried to
shut it down just before its Broadway premiere. Terri Kent returns to
direct TMTP’s annual partnership with the Musical Theatre Program at Kent
State University. Don’t miss this rare chance to see an American masterwork
about courage and cowardice—funny, angry, and in the end, unforgettably
stirring.
