*SALEM COMMUNITY THEATRE*

*PRESENTS THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW*

*LIVE ONSTAGE FOR HALLOWEEN: OCT 21-NOV 5*

Just in time for Halloween, Salem Community Theatre will delight 40 years’
worth of fans by proudly presenting the hit rock musical, *THE ROCKY HORROR
SHOW,* for three Friday-Saturday weekends: * October 21-22, 28-29
*and* November
4-5*. Performances are at 7:30 pm, with the Saturday, *Oct. 29* performance
at *midnight*. Tickets are $15/adults, $11/seniors and $9/students and can
be reserved by calling *330-332-9688 <330-332-9688>*.

Said Director Michael Dempsey about the show: “It’s fun, naughty and
bursting with energy. The music is a blast and our performers are
top-notch—so I’m hoping both Rocky Horror ‘virgins’ and die-hard fans alike
will see this show live onstage as it was meant to be.”

The adventure begins when squeaky-clean sweethearts Brad and Janet stumble
upon a castle belonging to transvestite mad scientist Frank ‘N’ Furter—on
the stormy night he’s about to create his perfect man, the muscular Rocky.
Add bizarre and vivacious servants Riff-Raff, Columbia and Magenta to the
mix, and you have a wild night of frolics and frivolity. Writer/composer
Richard O’Brien was inspired by the ‘50s and ‘60s rock music of his youth
and the B-movie science fiction and horror movies that thrilled him as a
child, and from that created something totally unique. Bursting with
timeless classics, including “Sweet Transvestite”, “Damn it, Janet”, and of
course, the pelvic-thrusting “Time Warp”, THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW is a
non-stop party!

PLEASE NOTE: With sexual situations and adult language, this show is
definitely “R” rated, so parental guidance is suggested.

Director Michael Dempsey has previously helmed the critically acclaimed
shows “Into The Woods, “Jesus Christ Superstar” and “Sweeney Todd” for
SCT. Musical Direction is by Bret Cowden and Choreography by Carrie
Mazzucco. It stars Matt Schomer, Niki Slaven, Keith Stefanic, Bethany
Kholos, Chris Hager, Roger Gaskins, Chuck Simon, Christopher Fidram and
Lexi Mellinger. It also features Tara Holl, Hannah Nash, Erica Perna,
Reece Xavior, Lexi Denney and Justin Steele.

Famous for its audience participation, Rocky Horror at SCT will be no
different. Said Dempsey: “Patrons are encouraged to come in costume,
shout out their best retorts to the stage, and dance the Time Warp in the
aisle!” Die-hard fans can buy Prop Kits at the theatre to use in the show
(sorry, no homemade kits allowed), and there will be a Costume Contest
before the first two Friday performances featuring great prizes.

Since its first appearance at the Royal Court Theatre in June 1973, THE
ROCKY HORROR SHOW has become one of the most popular musicals in the
world. It has been performed worldwide in over 30 countries in every
continent and has been translated into more than 20 languages. With a
Broadway revival in 2001, a hit UK-Australian tour in 2014-15, and now the
new “Rocky Horror Picture Show” movie version on Fox TV this fall, the
show’s popularity has only grown with time.
