THE BFG (BigFriendly Giant)
 
Magical TheatreCompany, Northeast Ohio’s professional resident and touringtheatre for young audiences and families,announces the opening of Roald Dahl’s favorite book, The BFG (Big Friendly Giant) on October 14. 
 
“I is a niceand jumbly giant. I is the only nice and jumbly giant in Giant Country!
I is the BigFriendly Giant! I is the BFG.”
 
Afriendly giant with vocabulary problems delivers sweet dreams to children. Withthe help of Sophie, a plucky, young orphan, he embarks on a quest to save thechildren of England from the “frightsome” child-eating giants. This fantasticalworld of towering giants and magical adventures is a “gloriumptiousringbeller!”
 
Adaptedfrom the book by Roald Dahl and directed by Holly Barkdoll, The BFG stars Mark Ross of Akron in thetitle role and Caroline Martin of Norton making her Magical Theatre Companydebut as Sophie. Highlighting the play will be 12’ giants onstage. Magnificent giantpuppets created by Magical Theatre Company’s resident “Creature Maker” MarkJenks, will be a delight for all to experience – even if some of them do eatchildren.
