WEATHERVANE PLAYHOUSE, Akron is seeking applicants for the position of Technical Director.  The application process is already in progress; applications will be accepted until the position is filled.

Responsibilities: The Technical Director is responsible for twelve productions annually.

Duties include: Designing set, lights, sound and/or overseeing volunteer designs, creating and maintaining scenery build, paint and installation schedule; properties construction/acquisition; stage rigging engineering, installation and operations; overseeing safety for shop/productions; attending production meetings and technical rehearsals; supervising and training volunteer crews with the coordinator of volunteers; drafting for scenery construction; other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications: Requires BA/BFA in Technical Theatre or related field and at least four years' experience. Candidate must possess scenery construction and engineering, shop management, and rigging expertise. Experience with sound and electrics is a plus. Effective organization, collaboration, interpersonal skills, and the ability to work with volunteers of varying skill levels is critical. The ability to organize and execute multiple assignments under specific time constraints is required. Must be able to stand for long periods, lift 40 lbs., use stairs and ladders. Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications.
