AT LAST combines history, imagination and song to tell the complex, socially-charged, redemptive stories of eleven black women: Etta James, Bessie Smith, Billie Holiday, Josephine Baker, Nina Simone, Mahalia Jackson, Zora Neale Hurston, June Jordan, Phyllis Hyman, Queen Latifah, and Michelle Obama.
