Auditions for the Workshop Players production of the family comedy
SQUABBLES by Marshall Karp will be held Monday, December 5 and Wednesday,
December 7 at 7 p.m. each evening. Director Brad Sales seeks to cast three
(3) women and four (4) men. Production dates are February 9, 10, 11, 17,
18, 19, 24, 25, 26

SYNOPSIS: Jerry Sloan is a successful advertising writer and his wife,
Alice, is a successful lawyer. Living with the Sloans is Alice's father,
Abe, a humorously grouchy septuagenarian. When a house fire displaces
Jerry's mother, Mildred, she comes to live "temporarily " with the Sloans.
Of course, Mildred and Abe can't stand each other, and, with Alice
expecting a baby, one of the in-laws has got to go. A series of silly
squabbles gives way to a heartwarming conclusion.

ROLES:

Jerry Sloan (age 30-45)-- Advertising jingle writer whose patience and
sensibility is about to be vigorously and humorously tested (must sing a
couple of jingles)

Alice Sloan (late 20s-40)-- Successful attorney who is expecting her first
baby but is not expecting her mother-in-law

Abe Dreyfus (65-75)-- Alice's curmudgeon of a father who believes that
arguments are essential to good health

Mildred Sloan (60-75)-- Jerry's assertive mother who firmly stands her
ground against Abe while she stakes out new territory in her son's home

Hector Lopez (30-50)-- Handyman, gardener and jack-of-all-trades with a
cheerful disposition and a constant need of a bathroom

Sol Wasserman (60-75)-- The Sloans' neighbor, a retired pharmacist who is
also Abe's card-playing buddy

Mrs. Fisher (45-55)-- The Sloan baby's starchy, authoritarian nurse whose
best friend probably calls her "Mrs. Fisher"

Auditions will be conducted at the Workshop Players Theater located at
