Where: Blossom Hill School at 4400 Oakes Rd in Brecksville, Ohio. The
building where auditions are held is building number 5 in the far southeast
corner of the practice field. Parking is close and signs will be posted.

Please prepare the following:

*Please prepare 32 bars of a song in the style of the show, bring sheet
music in the appropriate key (accompanist will be provided).
*Prepare a joke to tell (So we can hear you talk a bit)
* All those auditioning will be taught one or more musical cuts from the
show and may be asked to read from the script.
*Bring a headshot and resume
*Please bring a list of conflict dates you may have during the rehearsal
period.

Rehearsals: Rehearsals will start January 29th.
Rehearsals will be held based on actor availability. 4-5 days a week
expected. Sunday-Thursday 7-10 (Children actors will not be kept past 9pm)

Show Information:

Show Synopsis:
Roald Dahl's Willy Wonka follows enigmatic candy manufacturer, Willy Wonka,
as he stages a contest by hiding golden tickets in five of his scrumptious
candy bars. Whomever comes up with these tickets will win a free tour of
the Wonka factory, as well as a lifetime supply of candy. Four of the five
winning children are insufferable brats: the fifth is a likeable young lad
named Charlie Bucket, who takes the tour in the company of his equally
amiable grandfather. The children must learn to follow Mr. Wonka's rules in
the factory... or suffer the consequences.

Willy Wonka
The mysterious title character. He is charming, enigmatic, charismatic, and
slightly sinister. A chocolatier who guides children and their parents on a
tour of his factory. He is looking for someone new to take over his candy
empire. Doubling as Candy Man and Phineous Trout.
Gender: Male (Will accept Male or Female Auditioners)
Age: 20 to 55

Charlie Bucket
Our story's shy, earnest protagonist. From a modest home life, he is humble
and noncompetitive while maintaining a sense of wonder about the world. One
of the Golden Ticket winners whose honesty and general good nature win
Wonka over.
Gender: Male
Age: 9 to 15
Vocal range: G2-G4

Mrs. Bucket
Charlie Bucket's nurturing mother. She is always trying to maintain an
energetic positivity.
Gender: Female
Age: 30 to 45
Vocal range: Bb3-F5

Mr. Bucket
Charlie Bucket's nurturing father. He is always trying to maintain an
energetic positivity.
Gender: male
Age: 30 to 45
Vocal range: B2-F4

Grandpa Joe
A caring, patient, and kindhearted man. Loving Grandfather to Charlie
Bucket. He accompanies Charlie to Willy Wonka's factory and it gives him a
new burst of youthful vigor.

Vocal range: Bb2-F4

Augustus Gloop
A gluttonous German boy. Cheerful and jolly, he defines himself by his
ability to eat mass quantities of food. One of the Golden Ticket winners
whose constant overeating is enabled and encouraged by Mrs. Gloop.

Vocal range: B2-G4

Mrs. Gloop
A plump, jolly german woman with a bustling personality. Augustus Gloop's
overindulgent mother.
Gender: Female
Age: 30 to 45

Veruca Salt
A wealthy, spoiled Brit. She is accustomed to having her father indulge her
every whim and desire. One of the Golden Ticket winners, she is subjected
to the squirrels' nut chute.

Mr. Salt
A wealthy British upperclassman who regularly flaunts his wealth and
privilege. Father to Veruca Salt who shamelessly spoils his daughter.

Mike Teavee
An obnoxious, hyperactive child addicted to television, video games, and
the internet. One of the Golden Ticket winners and Ms. Teavee's son.
Gender: Male
Age: 9 to 15
Vocal range: G2-G4

Ms. Teavee
An old-fashioned housewife. She is Mike Teavee's permissive and clueless
mother.
Gender: Female
Age: 25 to 50
Vocal range: B3-F5

Violet Beauregarde
A brassy girl with a competitive streak. Violet seizes every opportunity to
show off. She turns into a giant blueberry.
Gender: Female
Age: 9 to 15
Vocal range: G3-F5

Mrs. Beauregarde
Violet's enthusiastic "helicopter parent" who focuses all her attention on
her daughter. She indulges Violet's worst competitive impulses.
Gender: Female

DIRECTOR
Will C. Crosby -- Originally from Lakewood, Will has worked all over the
Cleveland area as an Actor, Director, and Stage Manager. Most recently Will
was seen as Prince Herbert/ Not-Dead-Fred in Weathervane's production of
Monty Pythons Spamalot. Other notable roles include Smee in Peter and the
Starcatcher (Weathervane), Nicely Nicely Johnson in Guys and Dolls(Olmstead
Performing Arts), William Barfee in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling
Bee (Huntington Playhouse) and the Cowardly Lion in The Wizard of Oz
(CAMEO.) Will worked as the Director of the Garfield Middle School drama
program in Lakewood, as well as directed for this year's 8x10 TheaterFest
at Weathervane. Will has recently directed Company in Independence
