Andrea Trimmer recently moved to the Bainbridge area! I am looking to teach
a few tap classes, 1 evening a week at a nearby studio
(Bainbridge/Aurora/Twinsburg/Chagrin
Falls/Russell/Auburn/Mantua/Streetsboro.) I can teach any level, rec or
comp, technique or cleaning choreo. Bio below.

Andrea Trimmer is a professional tap dancer in the Cleveland area. Andrea
has been tap dancing for over 25 years, and she works to further her
knowledge by regularly attending festivals, intensives, master classes, and
private instruction with tap masters, including Heather Cornell and Brenda
Bufalino. Before moving to Cleveland, Andrea pursued her passion for tap
dance as a member, choreographer, and rehearsal coordinator of the Detroit
Tap Repertory. She has performed at The Detroit International Jazz Festival
and at numerous tap festivals around the country. Andrea is
Co-Founder/Director of The Midwest Open Rhythm Exchange, working to bring
MORE tap to the Midwest. She has been teaching tap dance since leaving her
Engineering job in 2013, and currently teaches at The Fairmount Center for
the Arts. Andrea is particularly skilled at, and interested in, learning,
preserving, and passing down historical tap dances such as The Shim Sham
and The Eddie Brown Chorus. Additionally, Andrea's love of tap has strong
ties to music and she defines herself as a percussion artist as well as a
dancer. She was previously the tap dance percussion in the Ann Arbor folk
rock band DSM, and she enjoys sitting in on local jam nights wherever and
whenever she can.

Andrea lives with her husband, Scott, and their daughter, River. She also
pursues her interest in informal STEM education and “making” as an employee
of The Great Lakes Science Center.

Andrea strives to share her love for tap dancing via teaching,
choreographing, producing, and by building a thriving tap community here in
Cleveland.
