*Leading LadiesAudition Information*

In this comedy by Ken Ludwig, the author of *Lend Me A Tenor* and *Moon
Over Buffalo*, two English Shakespearean actors, Jack and Leo, find
themselves so down on their luck that they are performing "Scenes from
Shakespeare" on the Moose Lodge circuit in the Amish country of
Pennsylvania. When they hear that an old lady in York, PA, is about to die
and leave her fortune to her two long lost English nephews, they resolve to
pass themselves off as her beloved relatives and get the cash. The trouble
is they find out that the relatives aren't nephews, but nieces! They don't
let a little thing like that stop them, though. Romantic entanglements
abound.

*Directed by Mark Cipra*

Performances:

Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm, Sundays at 2pm, March 10-26

Casting Information:

   - MEG SNIDER: Local girl, vivacious, warm, great sense of humor. Has
unfulfilled dreams of the great big world outside of central Pennsylvania.
   (Age: 25-35)

DUNCAN WOOLEY: Local minister, engaged to Meg. A good man, but fussy,
   headstrong, egocentric. (Age: 40-45)

DOC MYERS: Local doctor, Chief Moose, likeable curmudgeon, boisterous,
stocky, father to Butch. (Age: 50's)

LEO and JACK: Since they cross-dress as women, they must be clean-shaven
in time for opening night :). Both must have great English accents.

LEO CLARK: A Shakespearean actor, marginally gifted, charming yet mildly
pompous, prone to temper tantrums, longs to achieve stardom. (Age: 35-45)

JACK GABLE: A Shakespearean actor, easily dragged into Leo's harebrained
schemes, nice guy, longs to settle down. (Age: 35-45)

AUDREY: Extremely sweet and good-natured, an "intelligent airhead."
Audrey roller-skates. The director would most likely be really impressed if
auditioners showed up with their own roller skates prepared to dazzle.
   (Age: Early 20's)

BUTCH MYERS: A little slow on the uptake, built like he played high
school football, sincere, good-hearted. (Age: Early 20's)

FLORENCE SNIDER: Meg's aunt, an extremely crusty lady, terrible
eyesight, wealthy, wily, ailing... or hypochondriac? (Age: 60+)
