The Broadview Heights Spotlights begins its2017 Season with its Annual Coffeehouse Production of Weird Romance, two one-act science fiction musicals by Alan Menken(Little Shop of Horrors, Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, Newsies, Aladdin, andThe Little Mermaid).  


The first, The Girl Who Was Plugged In,is about a homeless bag-lady whose soul is transplanted into the body of agorgeous female android by a company which manufactures celebrities. Thesecond, Her Pilgrim Soul, is abouta scientist who researches holographic imaging. One day a mysterious"living" holograph appears and changes his life forever. TheSpotlights’ Coffeehouse Show includes a complimentary beverage bar(non-alcoholic), sponsored by Caruso’s Coffee, before the show and during anextended intermission, when luscious desserts provide by Michael Angelo’sBakery and Eddie’s Creekside are available for purchase. 


The cast includes Nicholas Beiser, AshleyBossard, Adam Bowers, Delia Brenna, Tara Corkery, Audrey Halvorson, KevinJoseph Kelly, Robert Kowalewski, Stephanie Malfara, Peggy Newton, AliciaPedrazza, and Jaclyn Phelps. The show is directed and music directed by RyanBergeron and choreographed by Jessica Sopko Medina. Tim Anderson is thetechnical director and Stephanie Giammarco is the costume designer.  


The Spotlights’ production runs from February10 through 25.  Performances will occuron Friday and Saturday evenings at 7:30PM, and there will be a Sunday matineeon February 19 at 3:00PM.   All performances are held at theBroadview Heights Cultural Arts Building, 9543 Broadview Road in BroadviewHeights (next to the police station).


Tickets are $15 for adults and $14 forseniors and students. Tickets may be purchased on-line at www.broadview-heights-spotlights.org.
