CABARET - Canton Players Guild Theatre
FEBRUARY 12th & 13th, 2017.

Rehearsals begin Saturday, February 18th 
Rehearsals:  Saturdays 10a-1p, & Sundays - Thursdays 7:30-10:30p. 
NO Rehearsal February 19th – February 24th. 

The production is scheduled to open March 31st and will run through April 15th, with performances on Fridays & Saturdays @ 8:00PM and Sundays @ 2:00PM 

DIVERSE AND NON-TRADITIONAL CASTING WILL BE CONSIDERED FOR ALL ROLES.

All roles are available; please see the character breakdown below.

Please prepare 32 bars of a musical theatre song that best shows off your vocal ability. Please bring sheet music in the appropriate key. An accompanist will be provided. In addition, please bring a current photo or headshot to your audition and a performance resume if available. 

Audition time slots are as follows: 
Sunday, February 12th @ 6:30, 7:00, 7:30, 8:00, 8:30, & 9:00p.
Monday, February 13th @ 8:30, 9:00, 9:30, & 10p.

Dance callbacks will be held on Tuesday, February 14th 
Principal callbacks will be Wednesday, February 15th.

Character Breakdown/Roles Available: 

Emcee: Male: late 20s-40s; The master of ceremonies at the Kit Kat Klub. Caters to the desires of both men and women. Very comfortable with his sexuality. Demonstrates a commanding stage presence, comedic, and lovable. Tenor.

Sally Bowles: Female, late 20s-40s; British headliner at the Kit Kat Klub. Quirky, gritty, beautifully broken and haunted by the dark reality of her chosen lifestyle. Mezzo with strong belt.

Cliff Bradshaw: Male, late 20s-40s; American novelist yearning for inspiration. Longing to find purpose, companionship, and his true voice. Bari-Tenor. 

Fraulein Schneider: Female, late 40s-late 60s; German landlady with a benevolent heart. Very aware and anxious of the social turmoil rising in Berlin. Alto. 

Herr Schultz: Male, late 40s-late 60s; Jewish proprietor of a local fruit shop. A romantic who has become smitten of Fraulein Schneider despite the racial tension. Baritone. 

Ernst Ludwig: Male, late 20s-50s; friendly and likable German who befriends Cliff. Later revealed to be Nazi. Tenor.

Fraulein Kost: Female, late 20s-40s; A coy and self assured prostitute who rents a room from Fraulein Schneider. A Nazi sympathizer. Mezzo. 

KIT KAT GIRLS: Rosie, Lulu, Frenchie/Gorilla, Texas, Fritzie/Fraulein Kost, Helga; Females, late teens – 40s; entertainers and escorts at the Kit Kat Klub. Extremely comfortable in their own skin and with their sexuality. 

KIT KAT BOYS: Bobby, Victor, Hans, Herman/Max: Males, late teens – 40s; entertainers and escorts at the Kit Kat Klub. Extremely comfortable in their own skin and with their sexuality.
