Beck Center for the Arts Youth Theater, one of the oldest continuously running Youth Theaters in the country, will be holding auditions on February 18 & 19, 2017 for the final production of our 68th Anniversary Season:

SCHOOLHOUSE ROCK LIVE!

The Show:
Tom, a nerve-wracked school teacher nervous about his first day of teaching, tries to relax by watching TV when various characters representing facets of his personality emerge from the set. Together, they show him how to win his students over with imagination and music, through such beloved songs as "Just A Bill," "Lolly, Lolly, Lolly" and "Conjunction Junction." This stage adaptation of the Emmy Award-winning 1970s Saturday morning cartoon series is fun for all ages!

Audition/Callback dates:
(open to Beck Center students ages 6 to 19*)
Saturday, February 18: 2:30 - 6:30pm
& Sunday, February 19: 1:00 - 5:00 pm
Callbacks: Monday, February 20 between 5:30 - 8:30pm

You may sign up for a one-hour audition slot at Beck Center Customer Service or by calling 216-521-2540 x10.

*Please note: Youth Theater roles are only eligible to students who will be enrolled in our Winter/Spring 2017 semester. Actors do not need to be enrolled at the time of the auditions, however, participation in the actual production does require Beck Center enrollment. Students do not need to be specifically enrolled in a Theater class at Beck Center to qualify. Students who will be enrolled in a Winter/Spring 2017 semester class in Beck Center's Dance, Music and Visual Arts Departments are equally eligible.

Bottom line: if you are accepting a role in the show, you will need to enroll in a class. Any questions, please feel free to contact Jonathan Kronenberger, Associate Director of Theater Education, at jkronenberger at beckcenter.org.
