MOCA Cleveland ArtSquad Walkarounds
*Job Description*
Provide entertainment as part of our ArtSquad, Beauregard and Cherry, at
Preschool Playdates, Free First Saturday, MOCA Family Day, and other select
programs. During programs meet and greet children and their families, work
closely with MOCA Education and Engagement staff, take photos, pass out
pencils and stickers, and interact with families to enhance all-around MOCA
experience.
*Responsibilities*
● Have enthusiastic and high energy when with the
public to keep entertainment level high
● Flexibility to work mornings and weekends
● Preserve the identity of the characters without deviating from
established character
including: body language/mannerisms, attitude, interaction, and MOCA
representation
● Work well in a team environment with another character
● Maintain to the best of your ability the quality of the costume
*Requirements*
● Flexible work schedule: must be available some mornings and weekends
● Previous experience as a mascot/character actor
● Must be in good physical shape, able to wear the costume for periods as
long as 20
minutes and pantomime. Physical acting abilities a must
● Character 1: Height between 5’10” - 6’3” with a maximum weight of 220
pounds
● Character 2: Height between 5’3” - 5’7” with a narrow build
*Availability + Pay*
● Shifts range from 90 minutes to 4 hours
● Schedule is set 1-4 months in advance
● 2 actors per program
● Base pay of $15 p/hour
