[NEohioPAL] "The Glass Menagerie" opens June 9 at ABOB!

The Tennessee Williams classic drama “The Glass Menagerie” will debut this weekend at Arlene’s Broadway on Buffalo in Conneaut, OH. The show will run June 9-11 and 16-17 at the theater, 236 Buffalo Street in Conneaut.

Set in 1937, the play tells the story of a domineering former Southern belle desperate to find a “gentleman caller” for her devastatingly shy and crippled daughter, Laura. It is billed as a “memory play,” and includes autobiographical elements from Williams’ life. The cast includes: Babs Legeza as the mother, Amanda Wingfield; Jordan Novitsky as the daughter, Laura Wingfield; David Jones as the rebellious poet son, Tom Wingfield; and John Mussig as Jim O’Conner, the “gentleman caller.” The play has been called “a drama of great tenderness and beauty. ‘The Glass Menagerie’ rightfully holds a place as a classic of modern American dramas.” It was the play that launched Williams’ career.

All showtimes are at 7:30 p.m., and the theater doors open at 6:45 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults, $8 for students, and are available at the door. Parking is on-street and in nearby business lots.
