PROP MASTER 

Cleveland PlayHouse (LORT B, C, and D), America’s first regionaltheatre and recipient of the 2015 Regional Theatre Tony Award, is acceptingapplications for Prop Master.  CPH produces a 7 show main stage season, a New GroundTheatre Festival, a children’s tour and 2 shows with the Case Western ReserveUniversity MFA acting program. The Prop Master will collaborate withdirectors and designers to build and acquire props for each production withinthe available resources of time, budget, personnel, and CPH’s mission, vision,and values. Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Theatre or equivalentexperience in props at a LORT Theatre; excellent verbal and written communicationand organizational skills, cost estimating and time management skills,knowledge of furniture history and period, working knowledge of propertiesconstruction techniques and materials, working knowledge of shop tools andequipment including woodworking tools, welders, vacuum form machine, and sewingmachines, knowledge of mold making and casting techniques, ability to lift 50pounds and work off tall ladders and personnel lifts, clean DMV record andability to drive 16’ cube van and 24’ box truck.

Prop Master will have theability to understand the work and needs of the department, anticipatepotential problems, and propose timely solutions. Ability to manage, supervise,and motivate staff. Position is full time, seasonal and runs July 17, 2017through June 30, 2018.
