Henny Penny, more commonly known as Chicken Little, is the featured protagonist in an early 19th century European morality tale about falsely believing that the world is coming to an end and crying out “The sky is falling!” while doing so.
Imagine, as playwright Matt Pelfrey has, that Chicken Little is a middle-aged suburbanite in post-9/11 America. And that his wife Terri is pregnant with their first child. And he has just had his first hit of crack cocaine.
