About the teacher:
Matiga Koba is a dancer, drummer, acrobat and painter from East Africa.  He
grew surrounded by the arts (his entire family are dancers and musicians!)
in the historical beach town of Bagamoyo, Tanzania.  From a very early age,
he was performing music and dance throughout Tanzania and beyond, including
Germany and Norway.  Matiga has toured Europe and the US extensively with
the Mama Afrika Circus and Cirque Zuma Zuma, even performing on Broadway!
Most recently, he was performing at Disney's Animal Kingdom.  He is eager
to share his Tanzanian culture through traditional and contemporary East
African dance, drumming and stories.
