TheImportance of Being Earnest is a play in which two men assume the same identity todeceive the general public and loved ones. The inclusion of two men who are never seen or heard adds to thefrivolity as each character either kills these men off or resurrects them outof thin air. Confusion reigns supreme astwo women believe that they are engaged to be married only to find out thatthere is no fiancé to marry. Just asconfusion reigns supreme, the chicanery unravels quickly but not before the twomen employ other devices to obtain their goals.
