DUBLIN'S AOIFE SCOTT IN UNIQUE SHOW AT PJ MC INTYRE'S SEPTEMBER 12

Aoife Scott, the rising star of Dublin’s traditional and Irish folk music
scene, brings her original hit songs and traditional tunes to Cleveland’s
PJ McIntyre’s on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 for a unique small venue show
amid a torrid seven week tour involving 35 shows.

While performing before thousands in many cities, the Cleveland show is
limited to 80 seats,  and is in the  downstairs “Bridgie Ned’s Party Room”
at PJ McIntyre’s.  Aoife explains, “it reminds me a bit of home, where we
get a chance to actually have a chat with the people in the audience, pose
for selfies, and really get a feel for the people of Cleveland.”

 Her sublime voice is a thing of beauty that stops people in their tracks.
Fragile and ethereal one minute and strong and vibrant the next, Dublin
Folk singer-songwriter Aoife Scott has become a force to be reckoned with
on the Irish folk and traditional scene.

With an impeccable pedigree as a member of the legendary Black Family,
which includes her mother Frances and her aunt Mary, Aoife is steadily
rising to the top of the traditional and folk music scene, while garnering
acclaim and recognition both here and abroad as she hones her craft.


Aoife is bringing some of the best young traditional musicians in Ireland
such as Eamonn Maloney. from the village of Newport in Co. Tipperary,
Eamonn is one of Ireland’s finest young flute & bodhrán players. In 2008 he
graduated from the Irish World Academy of Music and Dance at the University
of Limerick. Eamonn has performed extensively on the Irish music circuit
touring Europe, America and Asia and has been lucky enough to share the
stage with some of Ireland's finest exponents of traditional music
including The Chieftains, Sharon Shannon, Zoe Conway and Cathy Jordan. He
is a founding member and former flute player with the Five Counties Céilí
Band and has also performed and toured with music and dance productions
such as the Irish Harp Orchestra and Celtic Legends.


Cathal Curran, age 19, will perform traditional Irish vocals, and
instruments including bouzouki, banjo, fiddle and mandolin. Cathal Curran
comes from Glais a Chú (Glasserchoo), a townland in the middle of an Irish
speaking region in the Gaeltacht of Gaoth Dobhair. (Gweedore) in County
Donegal. Cathal’s awards include:  Sean-Nós (Old Style) singing, 15-18, at
the Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann (Irish National Festival of Music);  Celtic
Fiddler of the Year at the Pan-Celtic festival;  Best performer at Scléip
Náisiúnta na hÉireann (Young Persons’ Festival of Ireland) and numerous
various placings at An t-Oireachtas. (Gaelic League Annual Festival)


The Aoife Scott Band is anchored by Andrew Meaney from Rathmines Co.
Dublin, is an extremely talented young guitar player. Primarily
self-taught, Andrew has acquired a powerful rhythmic style of playing. He
has become well-known while touring with The Full Set and on the session
circuit around Ireland by playing at many festivals and featuring on radio
broadcasts such as RTE’s Céilí House, presented by Kieran Hanrahan. Andrew
has gone on to perform on the world stage with Fergal O’Murchu’s widely
acclaimed music and dance show “Ragús”. He has also performed at “The World
Fleadh” and was an artist at “Bal De Europe” in France.
