Cleveland Public Theatre seeking actor for

The Family Claxon

Written by Eric Coble

Directed by Craig J. George

World Premiere

Looking to cast...
One non-speaking role - any age or gender, but must be no taller than 5' 6". The character will have movement and will make sounds throughout as an active participant in the action of the play. In addition, the actor will be responsible for triggering several special effects. This is the perfect opportunity to be involved in a mainstage production at Cleveland Public Theatre.

About the play...
Andrew is throwing a party for old Grandad Claxon's 150th birthday as a last-ditch effort to finally get the higher-ups to notice him. His plan for promotion might just work since Grandad is the company's founding father. If only Andrew's wife would stop losing jobs and their daughter would stop blogging, while neighbors desperately flood into their home because of nearby rampages and plumbing explosions. And did we mention the Guatemalan Flu that makes house pets spontaneously combust? The Family Claxon is an insane romp into the absurdity of life in our communally duct-taped home.

About the process...

The selected actor will begin rehearsals immediately. Rehearsals take place Monday - Friday 6-10:30 and Saturday 11a-4pm. There will be one 10 out of 12 on Sunday, October 2nd.

Preview Performances are October 5th - 12th with rehearsals taking place October 9th - 11th. The production opens on October 13th and closes on October 28th. Performances are Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Mondays in CPT's Gordon Square Theatre.

To be considered for the role...
Interested artists should email a headshot (or snapshot) and resume (or brief professional biography) to CPT Artistic Associate, Molly Andrews-Hinders at mollyah at cptonline.org<mailto:mollyah at cptonline.org> no later than 5pm on Wednesday, September 23rd.
