LCCC’s Stocker Arts Center Hosts “Guitars for Girls”

“Guitars for Girls” will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, October 11 at the Hoke Theatre of Stocker Arts Center at Lorain County Community College.

“Guitars for Girls” is a benefit fundraiser concert for the Susan G. Komen Foundation for breast cancer research, education, screening and treatment. The event is brought to you by Cleveland's Country 99.5 WGAR, Lorain County Community College and Metro Lexus. Guests will enjoy an up-close and personal acoustic show with Kane Brown, RaeLynn and Carly Pearce.

Brown was just a shy teenager when he began posting videos of himself singing cover songs online. Growing up in Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia–a small town just outside of Chattanooga, Tennessee–the classic country songs he covered were comfortable territory for the young singer, whose deep drawl will immediately garner comparisons to Josh Turner and Chris Young. Once his cover songs began racking up views, transitioning into songwriting was a natural next step.

Following up on the success of her 2014 gold-certified debut single “God Made Girls” comes the release of RaeLynn's Warner Bros. Records/Warner Music Nashville debut album "WildHorse." On “WildHorse,” listeners hear that same warmth and accessibility and sense the same buoyant personality that ushered her into the spotlight on NBC’s “The Voice.”

Born into the bluegrass brawn of Kentucky, Pearce has never known a moment that country music wasn’t her path. At age 11 she began touring with a small band and by 16 was performing at Dollywood. Over the past eight years in Nashville, the CMT “Next Women of Country” alum has been blazing her own trail with the depth of her songwriting. She has had more than 35 invitations to play the Grand Ole Opry and joining the bill with notable artists such as Martina McBride, Kip Moore, Cole Swindell, Eli Young Band, Hunter Hayes and Lucy Hale of “Pretty Little Liars.” In 2016, she celebrated her first “Top 40” hit “Wasn’t That Drunk,” a collaboration with Josh Abbott Band.

Tickets for “Guitars for Girls” are sold out. A buffet dinner is available before the “Guitars for Girls” show in the Norton Culinary Arts Center attached to Stocker Arts Center for $20 per person.
