Stocker Arts Center Presents "Oh What A Beautiful Mornin': The Impact of ‘Oklahoma!’”

Lorain County Community College’s Stocker Arts Center will present "Oh What A Beautiful Mornin'”: The Impact of “Oklahoma!” at 7 p.m. on Saturday, October 14 in the Hoke Theatre of Stocker Arts Center.

The “beautiful mornin'” that "Oklahoma!" promised was nothing less than The American Dream. Now—75 years after its Broadway premiere—the musical reaffirms the strength of our national character. Rodgers and Hammerstein’s first musical opened during the dark days of World War II, when the outcome of the war was far from certain.

This multi-media concert includes live performances of the musical’s beloved songs, interviews and creator testimony, footage of Agnes de Mille’s dream ballet and the surprising patriotic back-story of its creation. The show is hosted by Bill Rudman and Nancy Maier and features Ursula Cataan, Lindsey Sandham Leonard, Joe Monaghan, Shane Patrick O’Neill and Fabio Polanco.

Tickets for this Random Acts Series event are $20 for adults, $18 for seniors 65+ and $10 for LCCC students with a valid ID, youth 18 and under and active duty military with a valid ID.

The Stocker Box Office is open Monday-Friday from 12 noon to 6 p.m. and 90 minutes prior to ticketed events. Please call (440) 366-4040 for tickets or for a season calendar. Tickets can be purchased at stockerartscenter.com or by calling the Stocker Box Office at (440) 366-4040.

Stocker Arts Center is located on the campus of Lorain County Community College at 1005 North Abbe Road, Elyria, Ohio.
