Cleveland Pops Jerry Herman concert involves talented teens from Cleveland School of the Arts

October 15, 2017 - Cleveland, Ohio: Some very talented young people from Cleveland School of the Arts will receive the golden opportunity to test their chops on stage with some of the best of Broadway's singer/actors. Cleveland Pops Orchestra is presenting "Jerry Herman: The Broadway Legacy Concert" at 8:00 P.M. this Saturday, October 21st at Severance Hall. The touring show is produced by The ASCAP Foundation and Spot-On Entertainment. The concert is presented by Cleveland Pops Orchestra with conductor Carl Topilow.

Scott Coulter, well-known Cabaret vocalist and the creator of Spot-On Entertainment, will be at the School of the Arts on Monday October 16th with pianist John Boswell to conduct a workshop focusing on the works of Jerry Herman, composer of legendary musicals including "Hello, Dolly!", "Mame," "Les Cage aux Folles," "Mack & Mabel," and "Milk and Honey." Students who display exceptional talent will be picked to sing one Jerry Herman song each during the live concert.

Among the Broadway stars performing will be Tony Award-winning Debbie Gravitte, Tony Award nominee Ron Raines, actor/singer/comedienne Klea Blackhurst, and Jason Graae, star of Broadway, Metropolitan Opera, Cabaret, and Nightclub.
